Since we can't cook the whole world dinner, we find other ways to nourish Harvard and its neighboring communities. As James Beard said, "Food is our common ground, a universal experience."
That experience doesn't begin and end on the plate; it also includes buying locally, community service and fostering public health. |

From local buying, to food bank donations and the Walk for Hunger, we demonstrate our commitment to the community throughout our operations. |

In a perfect world, there would be no illness, poverty or hunger; yet we don't live in a perfect world. So often, those three things form a vicious cycle,
where people cannot afford to make quality food choices, and their health suffers as a result. This cycle also sets up neighborhoods where fast food chains are on every corner, but there aren't
any grocery stores for miles. French fries become the "vegetables" in a child's diet, and that child ends up overweight, suffering from diabetes and hypertension. There are ways to break this cycle, and these organizations can help you to learn more, or get involved. |
