Food Literacy Project
Food Literacy Project
Founded in 2005, the Food Literacy Project (FLP) hosts a fellowship program for students, as well as guides several campus-wide initiatives which provide opportunities to explore the food system experientially and academically. FLP hosts events and opportunities throughout the year that are open to the Harvard and broader Cambridge-area communities.
Events
The Food Literacy Project plans and hosts 50+ events each school year to educate the Harvard community about all aspects of food. We break down the year into monthly themes to examine the food system through a variety of different lenses. FLP event highlights from past school years include:
- A MEM Tea Workshop and Tasting
- Farm field trip to Ward’s Berry Farm
- Food and Podcasting at PRX Garage
- VEGuary Cooking Class
- Daily Table Talk and Tour
- Empower: Food and Body Workshop Series with HUHS Dietitians
- Eliot House Garden Dinner
- Elemendorf Bakery Tour and Grains Discussion
- Miso in Japanese Cuisine: Winthrop Cooking Class and Tasting
Check out the sidebar on the right, or HUDS' calendar, for upcoming events! Reach out to foodliteracy@harvard.edu if you’re interested in partnering with FLP for an event.
